The z-card is a wallet-sized version of the Help is at Hand resource, a resource for people bereaved through suicide or other unexplained death, and for those helping them. The z-card is a short summary of the information contained in the full Help is at Hand booklet (ref: 2901502). Help is at Hand provides people affected by suicide with both emotional and practical support. It is designed to be given out by bereavement support organisations and by those who are likely to be first on the scene after a suspected suicide, including police and ambulance staff. The splenectomy leaflet and patient card are for patients to carry to show that they have no functioning spleen in the event of an accident or emergency or to show when having treatment in primary care. Patients should be given a few copies so that they always have a card on them in case it is required.
This leaflet is suitable for GP practices, travel clinics, airport and port authority settings, schools and holiday providers.
